Registration Now Open: New Voices Podcasting Workshop
Registration is now open for the New Voices Podcasting Workshop, a free 8-week workshop series for newcomer youth living in North Bay.
This workshop series is part of the New Voices Co-Design Lab, a year-long program that supports newcomer and refugee youth in exploring storytelling, media creation, and creative expression through hands-on workshops.
About the Workshop Series
The New Voices Podcasting Workshop Series introduces participants to the fundamentals of podcasting, including storytelling, interviewing, recording, and audio editing. Youth will work collaboratively to develop and produce their own podcast content using professional equipment and creative tools.
No previous experience is required.
Who Can Participate
- Newcomer youth ages 12 to 19
- Living in North Bay and the surrounding communities
- Open to beginners and youth with prior creative media experience
Workshop Details
Dates: 8 consecutive Saturdays from January 17 to March 7, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Near North Makerspace, 108 Main Street East, North Bay, ON
Cost: Free
All equipment, materials, snacks, and bus fare will be provided.
There are 12 spots available.
About New Voices Co-Design Lab
The New Voices Co-Design Lab is made possible through support from the Rideau Hall Foundation’s Catapult Canada initiative. The program was shaped through youth visioning sessions held in November and continues to be guided by participant interests and lived experiences.
The program is facilitated by Kelvin Doe, whose work focuses on youth empowerment, creativity, and community-driven storytelling.
