Make It Here: Near North Makerspace Celebrates One Year
NORTH BAY, ON — The Near North Makerspace is turning one, and the community is invited to come make something to celebrate.
Make It Here: Near North Makerspace Celebrates One Year takes place Friday, October 16 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at 108 Main Street East in downtown North Bay.
The free anniversary event will feature hands-on creativity, demonstrations, music, food and refreshments. Guests can explore the space, see its equipment in action and try making something of their own.
Interactive stations will feature the Makerspace’s laser cutter, 3D printer, dye sublimation equipment and embroidery machine, along with a demonstration in the music room. Guests can create personalized items and see firsthand how ideas can go from concept to finished product.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m., with brief opening remarks at 6:00 p.m. and station demonstrations beginning at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The celebration is also an opportunity to recognize the support that has helped make the Makerspace possible, including recent increased Ontario Arts Council operating funding and internships from the Northern Ontario Heritage Corporation, supported by the Government of Ontario.
Make It Here invites the community to discover what’s possible at the Near North Makerspace.
Come curious. Try something new. Make it here.
