Effective immediately, the deadlines for the Northern Arts program have changed to: May 15th and November 15th, 2012.

There will be no deadline in February 2012. When we made this decision, we had to balance the need for internal program support and the date change requests from artists and organizations. You can download the 2012 application form from our website after February 15th, or call us to have it mailed to you.

Reminders!
Funding Access to Project Programs
As of September 2011, OAC project grant recipients must submit their final report on their previous grant prior to applying again to that grant program. This helps ensure that a growing pool of artists has access to OAC’s project programs. The policy change is consistent across all OAC programs. Grant recipients are still eligible to apply for other OAC project grants for their different projects as long as their previous grant reports are not overdue.

There are some exemptions to this policy: The Artists in Education program, the Ontario and National and International Touring programs and the three third-party recommender programs — Exhibition Assistance, Theatre Creators’ Reserve and Writers’ Reserve.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions about the program or your application, or to discuss your project ideas.

YOUTH PROGRAM: 2pm, ROOM H109, Nipissing University
Please Register

The Tour’s Youth Program encourages Indigenous youth to explore and discuss short film and video works made for or by youth that look at the often surreal, significant, and often funny, coming-of-age phase of a young person’s life. For more information, or if you would like your classroom to participate in this free program please contact Holly at 705-476-6402.

COMMUNITY FEATURE SCREENING, 7:00pm, Room H106, Nipissing University

This year’s Community Feature Presentation brings families the animated feature film Wapos Bay: Long Goodbyes, which closed the 2011 ImagineNATIVE Festival. Wapos Bay is a fascinating and often humorous portrait of life on a northern Saskatchewan First Nation and is based on the classic animated TV series. The Wapos Bay TV
series earned four Gemini Awards between 2006 and 2010 and features the voices of the late Gordon Tootoosis (North of 60, Legends of the Fall), Andrea Menard (The Velvet Devil) and Lorne Cardinal (Corner Gas).
